Salty. Cool. Relaxing. This was how the air made her feel and she strolled slowly onto the hard, slightly worn docks. Akashlin smiled softly to herself as she hummed a tune from her homeworld. She missed everyone greatly, but didn't let it get her down. "Hope their fine...." Sighing sadly, she continued on.
Her boots clocking on the in a smooth rythm before she stopped at the end. Akashlin stared out for a long while. Just thinking about things in general. She bent over quickly and undid her long, white, boots, sitting down and soaking her feet in the ocean. Her eyes scanned the shining horizen.

Further up the beach, oblivious to who was on the dock, a girl stood where the surf met the land. The waves would roll in and over her bare feet up to the ankle, and roll out again in a rhythm as old as time itself.
Like the rhythm of the sea, the voice of Masa said in her head, there is also a rhythm to battle. We have seen countless conflicts in out millennia-long existence. We will teach you all you need to know to defend yourself.
Deborah had her head down, eyes closed as she listened to Masa’s words. Her attire was ill-suited for combat: a simple dress the color of the sky, the hem falling to her knees in the front and rear, slightly above them on each side. Her long hair was tied of into a ponytail on the side of her head with a white ribbon, and her white sandals lay discarded further away form the surf.
“You mean you’ll teach me how to kill,” she replied aloud.
There will be times it will come to that Masa acknowledged. Will that be a problem?
In response, Deborah’s eyes flashed open, and she snapped her head up. She held up her both hands, and in a flash of light, the golden double ended blades of the Mastermune appeared in her grip.
She let the question hand in the air unanswered as she begun her warm-up sword drills that she had been taught by the spirits of her sword previously. Her movements were graceful, but not overtly forceful as she moved in time with her sword, her feet finding purchase in the wet sand, the sweeping blades refracting sunlight hither and yon. It almost seemed like a dance.
If I close my eyes, she thought. This place almost feels like home…

She began singing to herself, softly at frist. But since she thought she was the only one around, she picked up the pitch. It was a long from her home world. Akashlin thought of all those days at home. Her sisters. Her brothers. Her parents.
I'm looking for you all...I won't stop till I find you all, promise.
Her singing continued, never wavering even when the sea became a bit unsettled by the moving tides. The wind harsher slightly. Akashiln's eyes wander over the beach as she saw a girl praticing her swordsmanship. Lips curling into a smile as she watched the slashing sword.

With a final graceful downward arc, Deborah completed her warm-up exercise. Goodsaid Masa . But it could be better.
"I'm not a warrior, Masa," Deborah reminded him hotly. "This is all new to me; there is bound to be a learning curve."
You're thinking to much Masa said simply. You have to be swift and decisive; in your thoughts and deeds, actions and reactions.
"And how do I do that?" she asked.
What sets your mind at ease? came the female voice of Doreen. When you were sacred and lonely like you are now, what helped?
Deborah didn’t even have to think about it. "Back home, there was a folk song that had been pased down from the ancient Dragonians to the people of Marbule. The elder's wife used to sing it to me every night after they took me in."
Sing it now, Lady Ashtear. Sing it now, and let it free your mind. Take up your sword, and fight. Doreen urged.
Deborah raised the Mastermune, and a song left her lips, and was carried down the beach by the wind :
"Seas invite in the evening sun to light the somber abyss. Clouds dance up with the heavens' stars, chanting an air of joyous bliss.
Water fades back from blue to jade, guiding young rainbows high. Flowers bloom into red and whites, quenching our hearts when they run dry..."
And surprisingly enough, it worked like a charm. Deborah felt the weight of the world lift from her shoulders and her movements became swift and precise. Even deadly
Now for phase twoMasa was saying, but Deborah wasn’t listening. Ready, Mune?
Deborah sang:
"Angels chained by a beast locked in slumber. Sin washed away by the swift flow of time.
I may know the answers. Journeys over snow and sand. What twist in fate has brought us to tread upon this land?"
Mune worked his magic, creating a small army of phantom opponents t attacked Deborah. They couldn't hurt her, and by striking them with the Mastermune they would vanish. Deborah was surrounded by these smoky, transparent beings, and she knew it, but she sang on even as she attacked, and cut them down with the Mastermune spinning like a jagged sun on the horizon.
"Blessed by light and the burden of shadow. Souls abide to an endless desire.
I may know the answers, though one question I still hear. What twist in fate has brought us to roads that run so near?
Distant worlds together. Miracles from realms beyond. The lifelight burns inside me to sing to you this song. To sing with you this song. To sing to you your song..."
Deborah finished her song, and her phantom foes were all gone. For a brief moment she was proud of herself, and turned to announce to the Elder what she had done --
-- and when she saw the unfamiliar huts of Destiny Islands, she remembered where she was, and how she had got there. It a single terrifying instant, the weight of her loneliness rushed back at her, crushing her like a physical force until she fell to her knees. With a disgusted shout, she threw the Mastermun out of her grasp, and it spun end over end toward the ocean, before it vanished in a hold of gold light.
"Go on, leave!" she yelled after it. "LEAVE! Why did you make me remember? They're gone! They're all gone and I SLPET THROUGH IT! I'm all alone and its and its MY OWN DAM N FAULT!"
And as the waves rolled in soaked her dress, Deborah began to cry.

The shouting startled Akashlin deeply. She sprang to her feet, looking in the driection o fhte cries. Her orbs feel on te girl who was praticing moves. forgetting her boots, Akashlin sprang into action and began running along the dock and to the beach. She hoped it was nothing serious.
"Hey! Is everything okay?!" She shouted to the girl, kneeling down beside her and setting a comforting hand on her back.

Lost in her loneliness, anger, and tears Deborah had no idea some one was coming up behind her until she felt the hand o her back. With a gasp she turned her head to look who it was, lost her balance and landed on her side on the sand -- just in time for the next wave.
She sputtered a for a moment to get rid of the seawater that had wound up in her mouth before she could respond. "No," she said in a quote voice. "No everything is not ok..."

If the girl was not depressed, Akashlin would have found this funny. But she didn't find it the least bit a joke. She wanted know what was wrong with her. What had befallen her to set her such a way of mind and agony.
Feeling sorry for her, she looked at the girl and the state she was in. Akashlin knelt down and helped the girl up. "Cheer up. Things will get better." She assured her, smiling widly and urging her to the sands and out of the path of the waves.

Deborah was grateful for the helping hand that got her off her butt and out of the waves. "I suppose things cant get any worse," she said at length as she idly brushed some wet hair away from her face.
Once they were a safe distance from the surf but still on the beach, Deborah turned to look at her new acquaintance . "I guess I made something of a spectacle of myself, huh?” she asked quietly. "I'm Deborah. What’s your name?"
